The Ficia Foundation and the Alicante International Film Festival have joined forces to highlight and emphasize the role of footwear as a fundamental element of the wardrobe used in the cinematic world. Both entities signed a collaboration agreement this Monday, through which the Ficia Foundation will support the development of the 22nd edition of the film festival, which will take place from May 17 to 24 in Alicante.
The signing of the collaboration agreement was attended by the president of the Ficia Foundation, Vicente Pastor, and the general director of the Alicante International Film Festival, Vicente Seva. As part of the collaboration, a round table with representatives from the footwear industry will be held, which will be part of the 'Fashion Cinema' section of the Alicante International Film Festival.
The agreement aims to strengthen and promote ties between the world of cinema and the footwear industry, thus showcasing the craftsmanship, creativity, quality, and innovation that characterize Spanish footwear through this cinematic event, which in its previous edition attracted nearly 35,000 spectators to its screenings and parallel activities.
The president of the Ficia Foundation emphasized "the importance of generating new synergies that allow us to boost and promote the image of the footwear sector linked to other prestigious industries, such as the audiovisual sector." "We are proud to support the development of this film festival, which has more than 20 years of history and has positioned itself as a national benchmark event," added Pastor.
Meanwhile, the director of the Alicante Film Festival, Vicente Seva, highlighted that "the Alicante International Film Festival aims to value all areas that integrate audiovisual creation, with wardrobe being an essential element for the development of stories. In Spain, we have exceptional designers and products, such as footwear, which has had a prominent presence in major film productions. This collaboration will allow us to further highlight the fundamental role that footwear plays in the world of cinema and continue celebrating the quality and creativity that define the sector."
Rosario Puñales, coordinator of 'Fashion Cinema', commented: "Since we created 'Fashion Cinema', our goal has been to support and promote costume design for cinema. Footwear, in particular, is essential to shaping characters, reinforcing their identity, and enriching the visual narrative. In Spain, we have great brands known for their creativity and the quality of their designs, and this year we will have the opportunity to discuss with industry experts to continue enhancing its value in the cinematic field."
