The new Fiat Grande Panda is an exciting revamp of a classic, blending design, functionality, and technology in an innovative manner. It emerges from the brand's need to have a vehicle in the B segment, previously occupied by the Fiat Uno and Punto. The Panda remains in the brand's catalogue, now renamed as "Pandina," and this Grande Panda completes the range in the larger and best-selling segment in Europe.

It retains Fiat's philosophy of offering a simple, affordable car with a distinctive design, reminiscent of the original 1980s model, but without becoming a "retro" car. According to François Leboine, the brand's design head, "it represents an evolution of the brand's classic design, maintaining its essence and adapting it to modern times. Essentially, it remains a charming car, but it has grown."

It enters the market with two variants, a 100% electric version and another with mild hybridisation. The electric version, with a 44 kWh battery, boasts a WLTP range of 320 km and 113 hp. It is equipped with a retractable AC cable integrated at the front (in addition to the rear charging port), capable of charging up to 7 kW, completing a charge from 20% to 80% in 4 hours and 20 minutes.

As an alternative to the retractable cable setup, depending on customer preferences or specific market requirements, an 11 kW rear-only charging port can be chosen, with a recharge time from 20% to 80% in 2 hours and 50 minutes. For both solutions, a standard rear DC fast charging port is included, offering a charging power of 100 kW and completing a charge in just 27 minutes.

The retractable cable is hidden behind the front logo F. P.

The new family vehicle in its electric version is presented in two configurations: the top-of-the-range Grande Panda La Prima, fully loaded, and the (Grande Panda)RED, a more accessible model that is even more socially relevant, supporting a cause. The latter features distinctive design elements, such as 16" white steel wheels and the "RED" logo on the B-pillar. To make life easier for its customers, the brand offers two options, and the customer only has to choose the colour.

Tres acabados para la versión híbrida

The hybrid version with a 1.2-litre turbo engine and 3 cylinders develops 100 hp and is available with the "easy drive" automatic transmission. In this case, it is available in three trims: POP, ICON, and LA PRIMA.

Inside, the spaciousness for passengers stands out, with a boot capacity exceeding 361 litres, and an additional 13 litres available within the cabin. The interior is spacious and bright, with high-quality materials and an intuitive design. The seats are comfortable and offer good support.

Inside, we find materials such as bamboo F. P.

Sustainable materials such as bamboo have been used, and design elements reminiscent of the original model have been incorporated, such as the shape of the rear lights and the overall silhouette.

For the first time in the automotive industry, the aluminium and plastic components of beverage carton packaging are recycled and blended into the blue plastic interiors of the Grande Panda: each car contains the recycled material from 140 beverage cartons.

It features a central touchscreen that controls vehicle functions and offers smartphone connectivity. The new Grande Panda includes a wide range of safety systems, such as autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

It will be available in seven colours: Lemon Yellow, Lunar Bronze, Acqua Green, Lake Blue, Passion Red, Cinema Black, and Gelato White, which embody, according to Leboine, "the colourful lifestyle of Italians and reflect Fiat's DNA."

The price starts at 18,900 euros for the hybrid, while the electric version will be available for around 25,400 euros. The Grande Panda, both electric and hybrid, will arrive at European dealerships from March 2025.
