Veteran leadership and new additions for its board of directors. This is how the Provincial Transport Federation of Alicante (FETRAMA) summarizes the changes made in its governing body. In a statement, they assert that the aim is to maintain the course of action, enhance services for members, and continue active work with associations and other employers' organizations to achieve set goals.
The changes mark the culmination of the process of renewing the Federation's organic positions, initiated in May, following the election of Antonio Marco (Antonio Marco SL) as the new president, as highlighted in the statement.
The board led by Antonio Marco as president is completed with Manuela Escudero (Vicente Escudero SL) as vice president and Margarita Boix (Transportes La Canyada SL) as treasurer. The board members who remain are Ramón Mayo (Logistland S.A), Juan José Hernández (Transportes Nogueras SL), Juan Ignacio Gisbert (G.B. Grupajes S.L.), and Belén Gómez (Trans-Andama S.L.).
New Additions
The new additions to the Board are Francisco Manuel García (Transmanolet S.L.), Jesús Navarro (Transnaba S.L.), Ceferino Riquelme (Kronofrío Logistic, S.L.), and Rafael Pascual (Transportes Antonio Pascual S.L.). The position of FETRAMA's secretary general remains occupied by Antonio Gabaldón.
The president of FETRAMA has expressed gratitude to the outgoing board members for their contributions during their tenure, a period marked by challenges such as the post-COVID era, energy and fuel crises, several strikes, and the successful negotiation of a collective agreement.
"To the new Board, both those who remain and the new additions, I acknowledge their immense commitment and readiness to continue defending the entire sector, working for the interests of all road transport professionals in the province of Alicante, and advocating for our activity as an essential part of the economic value chain of the province and the entire country," commented Marco.
The president of FETRAMA has stated that among their objectives is to improve service delivery for members, make them more accessible, better disseminate them, and intensify administrative and bureaucratic processes, as well as training, both mandatory and non-mandatory.
Sector Needs
Additionally, the president and the Board assure that they will continue to raise awareness among public administrations on necessary issues to ensure the operational functioning of the sector, both for companies and self-employed members.
From their perspective, there are some matters beyond the business sector's control, as they lie in the hands of the Public Administration, hence the need for constant dialogue with them. "We need to be heard and receive responses from various administrations: issues such as security in rest areas for our trucks and drivers; the lack of ongoing support in training so that associations like FETRAMA have the means to train new generations; the improvement of provincial infrastructure to better and more quickly reach logistics nodes, and the constant defense of the sector as a significant pillar of the Alicante economy."
