Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the leader of the Popular Party, has presented a "12 billion euro plan to be executed over 10 years" to the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV) for reconstruction after the storm. This marks his fourth visit to Valencia, the last being ten days ago, now invited by the regional employers' association to an assembly. His previous visit was to tour the areas most affected by the flood and to meet with party officials.

This latest visit is notably different. Not only did Feijóo attend, but also the PP's Secretary General, Cuca Gamarra. The president of the PPCV and the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, was also invited, although he did not speak.

Feijóo had an opportunity to demonstrate competence and plans before the Valencian business community. Additionally, it was a chance to strengthen the national Popular Party project before the regional employers. The highlight, beyond criticisms of Pedro Sánchez's government, was the presentation of the 'Valencia Plan' which the popular leader had previously mentioned.

"Advanced electoral programme" and new support for Mazón with nuances

The PP leader emphasized that as a candidate for the Presidency of the Government, he had traveled to Valencia to "commit" his "advanced electoral programme" to this region, in line with what he had already promised in the Congress of Deputies when the royal decrees of aid were debated. "I come, therefore, to state that the Popular Party's commitment to Valencia will be total," he proclaimed. The opposition leader highlighted the "enormous effort" being made by the Valencian Government led by Carlos Mazón within its competencies while Pedro Sánchez's government "spends most of its time politically exploiting the storm." In his view, it should have abandoned "cheap politicking."

"This is the largest investment in the history of the Valencian Community over a specific period," Feijóo declared at a business meeting in Valencia, aiming to "ensure that something similar cannot happen again" as occurred on October 29. Secondly, he continued, it is about recovering the damage caused by the storm in the tourism, agricultural, and industrial sectors.

Thirdly, he pointed out that the goal is "to advance by a decade the main infrastructures of the Valencian Community to achieve a cohesive, interconnected territory from an infrastructure perspective, and also competitive with other European regions."
