Elche midfielder Aleix Febas is a standout figure due to his exceptional form. A key player under Eder Sarabia, the Lleida-born player confirmed on Thursday that he will honour his contract with Elche, which runs until 2026, even if the team does not achieve promotion this season.

'I am clear about it, the contract is until 2026, and I am very happy here. The fans showed me a lot of affection last year when I stopped playing, and it's something I don't forget,' Febas stated after a spectacular performance against Almería. 'I am happy with what I do, and my personal life is also going well, which is reflected on the field,' he added.

Febas highlighted the unity within the Elche dressing room as a key factor in the team's strong performance: 'I've always said it, in a dressing room, those who don't play are more important than those who do. This year, those getting fewer minutes are exemplary. They keep a positive attitude, train hard, support, and we all row in the same direction. There are also very committed veterans in this dressing room, with good character and leadership, which helps a lot and is why we've formed this great family.'

The Elche midfielder has called for 'humility and patience' ahead of facing Cartagena, a team seemingly doomed to relegation, and lamented the two points Elche dropped against Almería. 'Every team is fighting for survival, and Cartagena is no exception. It will be a tough match; we must be patient, play without nervousness and without relaxation. We want to get rid of the thorn of not winning in Almería, which hurt us all. That match should not have slipped away because we were far superior,' he added.

Febas is in his second season with Elche and highlights the extraordinary parity at the top of the Segunda División table, with the top five teams separated by just one point. 'It's crazy this year, we know we have to win many games, but not out of anxiety. We need to stay calm, knowing there's a long way to go and that we're doing things right,' he remarked.

Febas was trained in Real Madrid's youth academy and has already tasted La Liga with Real Mallorca. Under the guidance of Vicente Moreno, Luis García Plaza, and Javier Aguirre, he played 33 top-flight matches and hopes to relive that experience next season with Elche.
