Spanish car manufacturing plants have all resumed operations and expect to fully recover throughout the day following the power outage that completely halted vehicle production yesterday.

The electricity cut affected Renault's factories in Valladolid, as well as Seat in Martorell, Volkswagen in Navarra, and Ebro in the Zona Franca.

After power was restored to the plants, the main issue now is reconfiguring production systems and resolving communication and internet problems at some sites.

Seat was the least affected, having regained electricity after 3:30 PM and was able to restart the process "without too many problems."

In the case of Volkswagen Navarra, it has not yet been able to restart activity despite regaining electricity. According to plant sources, they are currently reconfiguring their robotic manufacturing systems and expect to resume machinery operations around midday.

Stellantis Zaragoza had to halt production yesterday, as did its plant in Vigo. The latter has only been able to activate its line 1 so far, reports Anfac.

Similarly, the truck and commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco was forced to interrupt production at its Madrid and Valladolid sites.

The Ford plant in Valencia was unaffected yesterday as it was in a production halt week, similar to Mercedes-Benz Vitoria, as yesterday was a public holiday in the Basque capital.

As for the Ebro and Jaecoo/Omoda plant in the Zona Franca of Barcelona, activity resumed normally in the morning shift starting at 6:20 AM, following the nationwide power outage yesterday. The production of EBRO s700 and s800 models is back to a pace of 60 cars per day. According to the company, maintenance teams were able to reactivate all systems once the electrical connection was restored, and this morning the first work shift resumed its tasks.

Therefore, "all factories have resumed operations today, albeit with gradual recovery from early morning, but they are expected to be at 100% throughout the morning," Anfac sources told Europa Press.
