Equipped with the revolutionary Blade Battery, the new Sealion 7 SUV offers two different power options (313 and 530 horsepower) and a range of up to 502 km in combined cycle. The all-wheel drive version develops 530 HP (390 kW) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 215 km/h. The new high-performance 100% electric SUV is now on sale from 39,780 euros for the Comfort version, 43,290 euros for the Design version, and 46,180 euros for the top-of-the-range Excellence.

Developed by BYD, the Sealion 7's Blade Battery LFP is designed to offer class-leading safety, durability, and performance. LFP batteries are more resistant to extreme temperatures, less sensitive to temperature fluctuations, and can withstand more charge and discharge cycles with minimal capacity loss, making them particularly durable. The BYD Sealion 7 benefits from BYD's pioneering Cell to Body technology, a key technical difference compared to other plug-in vehicles; instead of a traditional layout, this configuration integrates the Blade Battery into the vehicle's structure, with the battery's upper cover acting as the cabin floor.

The entry-level engine of the Sealion 7 develops a power of 313 HP (230 kW) and 380 Nm of torque. It is the only engine available for the rear-wheel-drive Comfort version, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 215 km/h. In the Design AWD and Excellence AWD versions, this engine is complemented by another 217 HP (160 kW) motor on the front axle providing all-wheel drive, achieving a combined power of 530 HP (390 kW) and 690 Nm of torque. The top speed of these versions is also 215 km/h, but the time needed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced to just 4.5 seconds.

The new BYD Sealion 7 is offered with two battery capacities. The Comfort models, with rear-wheel drive, and Design AWD, with all-wheel drive, feature an 82.5 kWh Blade Battery, allowing the single-motor version to achieve a range of 482 km in combined cycle, while the Design AWD version with two motors achieves 456 km in combined cycle. The top-of-the-range Excellence AWD version has a larger battery, with a capacity of 91.3 kWh and a range of 502 kilometres in city-highway use.

All versions of the BYD Sealion 7 come with three-phase AC charging at 11 kW as standard, with the option to choose between different DC fast charging speeds. The Comfort and Design versions can be recharged in DC with a power of up to 150 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in 32 minutes. The Excellence AWD model, with a larger capacity battery, can reach charging powers of up to 230 kW. Thus, the Excellence AWD battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% of its capacity in just 24 minutes. A high-efficiency heat pump that uses residual heat from the electric drivetrain to help maximise range, especially in cold conditions, is also standard across the range.

The BYD Sealion 7 is the latest BYD model in Europe equipped with adaptive dampers. This variable system controls the oil flow in the damper cylinders, ensuring a relatively firm setup on smoother surfaces to improve stability and handling, but allowing a softer and more comfortable adjustment when driving on bumpy or uneven roads. The dynamics of the BYD Sealion 7 are also enhanced by a new intelligent torque distribution system, offered in the all-wheel-drive versions. It works by intelligently distributing torque between the wheels, reducing torque and even applying negative torque to increase stability, which improves safety and driving experience.

The SUV design of the BYD Sealion 7 contributes to offering notable cabin space and practicality. Its total length of 4.830 meters, generous wheelbase of 2.93 m, and completely flat rear floor enabled by the new platform create a comfortable cabin space for five adults to travel in total comfort. The dashboard of the new model is dominated by a 15.6-inch (39.6 cm) screen, which, as one of BYD's distinctive features, has electric rotation to orient horizontally or vertically. It incorporates BYD's latest software, allowing a full 3D representation of the car.

The BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with a wide array of driver assistance and safety technologies. The DiPilot 10 package integrates a combination of radar sensors and a multifunctional video system to help provide intelligent driving assistance, such as adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist, which operates more naturally. All BYD Sealion 7 models include front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed limit control, front and rear collision warning, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and brake assist in case of cross-traffic. It also features lane departure warning, intelligent high beam control, blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking, driver fatigue alert system, door opening warning, lane centring control, driver distraction warning, and 9 airbags.
