More than 2,000 students in Alicante are set to take the extraordinary session of the University Entrance Exams (PAU) starting this Tuesday. The Miguel Hernández University of Elche will host 1,016 students, while the University of Alicante will accommodate 998.
The increase in enrolled students across the Valencian Community (5,608 in total) is attributed by the Education Department to the opportunity given to students affected by the storm on October 29th to delay their regular session and take the exams in July. This group is concentrated in the province of Valencia, amounting to 471 individuals according to final data.
The majority of those registered for the university entrance exams are second-year high school students. Of the 5,608 registered after completing this educational stage, 5,079 are high school students, with 2,913 being women and 2,166 men.
Regarding students from vocational training cycles who will take the university entrance exams starting this Tuesday, their number reaches 529, of which 335 are women and 194 are men.
The results will be available on July 8th from 5:00 PM via the website https://appweb1.edu.gva.es/paseu/login.sec, and the period for requesting reviews will be from July 9th to 11th, with the deadline on the last day at 2:00 PM.
Pre-enrolment and Allocation of Places
The university pre-enrolment period will remain open until July 4th at 2:00 PM. The initial allocation of university places will be on Friday, July 11th. Subsequently, and as a novelty this year, the Conselleria will centralise the allocation of vacancies resulting from waiting list movements.
Thus, following the first allocation on July 11th, there will be eight allocations at 2:00 PM on July 18th, 24th, and 30th, September 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, and finally on October 2nd.
The results of these successive allocations can also be consulted on the pre-enrolment platform. After the ninth and final joint allocation, the management of university degree place allocations will be conducted directly by each university.
