Spain's Men's Rugby Sevens team, having recently achieved a historic feat by becoming world runners-up in Madrid, arrives in Alicante province this week to prepare for their upcoming international commitments.

The team, which has earned international respect by defeating powerhouses like New Zealand, South Africa, and Argentina, will hold an open training session this Friday, June 6, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Bonalba Sports Complex in Mutxamel. This is a unique opportunity to see some of the best players of the moment up close and experience firsthand the intensity and spirit of a team that has defied all odds.

Spanish rugby is experiencing an unstoppable growth phase. At the level of clubs, regional federations, and national competitions, a solid foundation has been established that feeds both the youth and senior national teams. The progressive professionalisation of the sport, institutional support, and increasing media coverage have been key to Spain becoming an emerging reference in international rugby. The numbers speak for themselves: the number of licenses has increased over the last decade, schools and grassroots rugby programs have multiplied, and national teams have begun to achieve historic results in both men's and women's categories.

Beyond the physical spectacle, rugby embodies essential values in sport such as respect, collective effort, honesty, and overcoming challenges. It is not just a sport; it is a school of nobility that shapes the character of its players both on and off the field. Watching them train is a lesson in humility, strategy, and commitment.

Bonalba Golf Resort, which was the venue last April for the International Test Match between Spain and South Africa's women's teams, once again hosts the national teams due to the quality of its facilities, its strategic location, and the environment it offers for high-level training camps. In the coming days, the women's XV team, the 'Leonas', and the Under-20 team will also arrive to train, preparing for important international events such as the World Cup in Italy or the tour in Japan.

This Friday, the session will be open to all those who wish to come and see firsthand the work of a team that is making history. It is a unique opportunity to discover the intensity, tactics, and values of a sport that is winning over more people every day.
