C and L, both 30 years old, have been living for a year and a half with their four-year-old child in a home in the José Antonio neighbourhood (now Miguel Hernández) of Alicante. However, this will end on Wednesday as they face eviction from their home.

The Carolines Neighbourhood Union has condemned this eviction, which was announced last Friday, June 6. "An EVhA inspector, accompanied by the police, issued an entry order to the flat," intending to carry out the eviction on Wednesday "without specifying the time."

The eviction is scheduled on Pavía Street 2 in this Alicante neighbourhood, where members of the Union will gather to prevent the eviction of this family, who, they state, have a vulnerability report drafted by the social worker.

The document explains that this family receives a monthly salary of 645 euros, which makes it impossible to access alternative housing "with current rental prices." At the same time, they explain that the family has requested from the regional body to remain in the home with "a social rent in line with their family income."

Without a Lawyer Until After the Eviction

This family, consisting of C, L, and their young child, has applied for a court-appointed lawyer. The Carolines Neighbourhood Union details that this procedure was carried out on June 9, "within the three-day period established" for such requests.

From the Court, they were informed that they would not have legal representation until June 18, a week after their eviction.

In this regard, they denounce the family's "barely any resources" situation, while emphasising that the Administration "has bypassed established protocols and violates the legal representation rights of three citizens in a difficult situation."

"Bleeding of People"

The Carolines Neighbourhood Union claims that "no political party does anything to stop this bleeding of people who are left in absolute precariousness, with all that implies for their health and the possibility, not of living, but of surviving. Without a roof, there is no dignified possibility of life."
