Everything is set in Alicante for the upcoming week when costumes will take over the city centre during the 2025 Carnival. This celebration is expected to be massive, reaching its peak with the famous "Sábado Ramblero" on March 1st. However, the first signs of the grand festivity can already be seen on the Rambla de Méndez Núñez, the epicentre of the celebration. The special lighting, featuring 13 arches with two masks and flowers predominantly in white, red, green, and yellow, is already in place on the Rambla de Méndez Núñez.

The Children's and Adult Carnivals will take place on the evening of "Sábado Ramblero". The former will run from 5 PM to 8 PM, including face painting, crafts, and the show 'El Mago Guillermo'. This will be staged at the Portal de Elche. From 10 PM to 4 AM on Sunday, the Adult Carnival will take over.

The thousands of attendees, considering figures from recent years, will have two stages to choose from based on their music preference. At the stage near Casa de la Festa, Fiesta Cadena 100 music will be played by 'El Pulpo' and DJs Rafa Sánchez, Sergio Salinas, and Fredy Vidal.

Those who prefer music more in tune with the Carnival spirit will have another option at a different stage, located in front of the Portal de Elche. The ten members of the 'Etiqueta Show' orchestra, including musicians, singers, and dancers, will be the stars.

The charity bars located on the Rambla will be coordinated by the Association of Restaurants and Leisure Venues of Alicante (ALROA), which will allocate 90% of the proceeds to Apsa Alicante, and the "Jorge Talavera" and Alinur foundations.

Fireworks, Rock Concerts, and Sausage Feast

The events leading up to "Sábado Ramblero" begin with those organised by the Carnival Committee (MECA). From Thursday, February 27th, Carnival spaces will start being decorated. That same night, a fireworks display is scheduled for 9:30 PM, starting at Plaza del 25 de Mayo, followed by a sausage feast with a concert at Plaza del Carmen, lasting until 2:30 AM.

The Carnival Proclamation is scheduled for Friday, February 28th (10:30 PM) at Plaza del Carmen, followed by a concert and dance until 4 AM. Coinciding with "Sábado Ramblero", MECA has organised a "batucada" starting from Plaza del 25 de Mayo (7 PM) and a concert at Plaza del Carmen.

This same spot in the Old Town is chosen for the Burial and subsequent Burning of the Sardine on the evening of Wednesday, March 5th. Both events will take place between 8:30 PM and 2 AM. MECA's programme will conclude on Sunday, March 9th with a children's activity at Plaza de Castellón (Las Palmeretas, in Carolinas Bajas), from 10 AM to 5 PM.
