Rubén Torrecilla has already shown many times at Hércules that he is fixed in his ideas and knows exactly what he wants, both in the tactical setup and in what he asks of the players. The blanquiazul eleven is very defined in these first six rounds and where there has been no change, besides the goal, is in the engine room.
Mario García, signed from Algeciras, is untouchable in front of the central defenders because his dirty work is fundamental. He covers a lot of ground, is aggressive, intelligent in reading the game to recover and has experience in the category. Next to him, Roger Colomina is also a fixture. The Catalan, who continues from last year, is one of the club's main assets, has renewed until 2028 and is showing that the jump in category does not weigh him down. He has judgment, stride, personality and vision of the game. He is thriving in Alicante and Torrecilla speaks wonders of him whenever he has the chance.
In front of Colomina and Mario, the Extremaduran coach has opted for Antonio Aranda in all matches. The coach and the midfielder have known each other for many years and were eager to reunite, so his signing was completed very quickly in the summer. Aranda has shown a lot of imbalance and daring at Rico Pérez but has also dropped away from home and Torrecilla made it public on Saturday that several players were not measuring up away from Alicante (he did not name names, but Aranda and Soldevila seemed to be pointed out).
The starting positions of Mario, Colomina, and Aranda each week leave the rest of the midfielders in a delicate situation. The one who has been able to help the least has been the Canary Islander Artiles because he suffered a muscle injury before the Ibiza match from which he has already recovered. Artiles renewed this summer after proving that the fracture in his fibula had healed well and both Torrecilla and technical secretary Paco Peña agree that his experience will be important during the competition.
For his part, the latest signing Franck Angong is now ready to debut after getting physically fit. He was called up against Castilla but the coach did not give him minutes because Hércules needed to come back from the reserve team's goal. Angong is expected to be Mario's natural replacement when he needs to stop due to injury or suspension.
Finally, Alicante's Carlos Mangada is in a complex situation as he has only played eleven minutes in the first six matches. The Alicante player ended up being an undisputed starter last season due to César Moreno's departure and Artiles' serious injury but Torrecilla seems to have doubts about his level to compete in Primera RFEF.
