The Encina Clinic in Villena Resumes Service After Renovation

The medical clinic of La Encina in Villena has resumed service after undergoing a rehabilitation process. The municipal government team visited the facilities this Wednesday during the first day of operation since the comprehensive refurbishment of the building, the provision of spaces, and the assignment of medical and healthcare staff. The renovation of these facilities was approved in 2022 with an initial investment allocation of 112,000 euros.

The Mayor of Villena, Fulgencio Cerdán, expressed his satisfaction with "the commencement of the service provided to the Pedanía of La Encina, after many months of work, overcoming some difficulties to finally achieve the opening of the doors and the provision of healthcare, which is truly important."

In this regard, the Health Councillor highlighted the improvement in public service represented by the La Encina clinic, a centre that will serve the public on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 14:30, and is affiliated with the Villena Health Centre II. Additionally, another session will be established for nursing staff to perform blood tests, dressings, vaccinations, or home visits.

Meanwhile, Eva García, as the Pedanías official, considers it "a historic milestone to recover this building dating back to 1950 as the former doctor's house, now restored with better facilities and services."

The project has enabled the comprehensive rehabilitation of these premises to ensure structural safety, habitability, and the provision of healthcare services in optimal conditions for both patients and healthcare professionals. The renovation has allowed for the repair of structural damages, the renewal of all electrical, water, and air conditioning installations, as well as the refurbishment of the facade and ensuring accessibility to any area of the Clinic.
