An employee of a livestock farm in Orihuela, along with an accomplice, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a large quantity of industrial tools and machinery from the company, valued at €13,000, in three separate incidents, according to the Alicante Civil Guard Command.
'Operation Porc25' was carried out by the specialised Field Robbery Team (ROCA) of the Torrevieja Territorial Company, in coordination with the Callosa de Segura Post, with close collaboration from the Local Police of Cox-Granja Rocamora, Bigastro, and Benferri.
The investigation began in February after the first report of a robbery at a livestock farm located in a hamlet of Orihuela. The victim reported to the Callosa de Segura Civil Guard Post that access to a warehouse had been forced, and valuable industrial tools and machinery had been stolen, amounting to approximately €4,000.
Immediately, the case was transferred to the specialised Field Robbery Team (ROCA) of the Torrevieja Territorial Company, which initiated 'Operation Porc25' to locate those responsible.
During the investigation, and just a month after the first robbery, a second incident occurred with the same modus operandi, raising suspicions that the perpetrators were familiar with the premises. Consequently, the farm owners decided to install surveillance cameras, which captured the final theft on April 20.
The Civil Guard and Local Police officers gathered all possible details from the crime scenes, and after analysing the evidence, they identified the two suspects and the vehicle used in the crimes, linking them to the three thefts at the pig farm.
On May 14 and 15, 2025, two Spanish men aged 27 and 34, both employed in the sector, were arrested. Their employment facilitated the commission of the three thefts without initial detection, according to the Civil Guard.
The arrested individuals are accused of stealing a large quantity of industrial tools and machinery valued at €13,000. One of them is also charged with a traffic offence for driving without ever having obtained a licence. The vehicle used in the crimes has been seized. The case has been submitted to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Orihuela.
Coordinated Effort
The coordinated efforts of the Security Forces and the relationship with sector entrepreneurs help reduce crimes in agricultural and livestock facilities. When crimes do occur, the perpetrators are often captured. These facilities sometimes present characteristics that make them attractive targets for certain crimes, as they are generally isolated from main population centres.

Additionally, they highlight that collaboration between the Civil Guard and sector professionals is crucial. They also stress the importance of reporting incidents, as the information gathered allows them to investigate the crime and prevent future offences.
