From October 21 to 31. These are the days when one of the exercises of the Special Operations Command (MOE), also known as 'Green Berets', will take place in Alicante and neighboring provinces. They are based in the Rabasa barracks.
The exercise named 'Empecinado 24' is expected to increase military aircraft traffic in the areas where it is conducted. Therefore, it will be common to see several military planes and helicopters flying over Alicante during these days.
The MOE explains that in this military exercise, procedures will be practiced to plan and conduct Special Operations missions "in the framework of a complex operational environment where symmetric and asymmetric threats play an important role".
During the exercise, the MOE special operations units will participate alongside special units from allied countries such as Chile and Portugal, as well as other units of the Army.
