Spain's market for electrified vehicles (100% electric and plug-in hybrids) is experiencing unprecedented growth in the first half of 2025.
Data from AEDIVE and GANVAM confirm the consolidation of electrification: 21% of car registrations in June were for electrified models (pure electric + plug-in hybrids). At this rate, both associations estimate that by the end of 2025, over 200,000 electrified vehicles will have been registered.
However, they note that by implementing fiscal measures for fleet electrification, these figures could potentially double, further accelerating the transition to more sustainable mobility.
Registrations of 100% electric vehicles of all types (cars, two-wheelers, commercial and industrial) have increased by 79.1%, reaching 115,710 units. This figure places the sector close to the total registered throughout 2024, when 133,699 units were recorded, according to data from the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (AEDIVE) and the National Association of Vehicle Sellers (GANVAM). In June alone, sales grew by a robust 129.6%, reaching 28,120 units.
Breaking it down by propulsion type, registrations of 100% electric vehicles of all types rose by 71.5% up to June, totaling 57,060 units. June was a particularly strong month with a growth of 104% and 13,876 units sold.
Among pure electrics, 100% electric cars saw a 101.7% increase in June, reaching 11,461 units. This boost is partly attributed to measures such as energy savings certificates, which, thanks to agreements between brands and energy companies, offer discounts on purchase prices. These discounts are also compatible with existing incentives, such as the MOVES Plan or the 15% income tax deduction. In the semester's total, electric cars grew by 83.1%, with 47,367 units.
In the two-wheeler segment, zero-emission motorcycles grew by 59.3% in June, with 717 units, accumulating a growth of 30.3% so far this year (3,297 units). Electric mopeds, meanwhile, rose by 59.8% in June, although they moderate their decline in the semester (-5.5%), with 1,112 units registered.
Electric vans also showed a notable recovery, with an increase of nearly 240% in June, reaching 1,288 units sold. In the cumulative exercise, their sales grew by 61.3%, reaching 4,101 units.
On the other hand, plug-in hybrid vehicles also recorded a strong increase of 161.5% in June, with 14,244 units. In the semester's total, their sales increased by 87.1%, with a total of 58,650 units up to June.
