The elections for the presidency of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF) will be held on December 16. Three weeks earlier, on November 25, elections for the general assembly of the federative body will be held. On October 2, FIFA and UEFA gave an ultimatum to the Government to provide guarantees with the aim of having a new FEF president before the end of the year. The institution, which Luis Rubiales had to leave, agreed this Friday to start the process for the election of the assembly, delegate commission, and top leader for the 2024-2028 period.

The day before, the Higher Sports Council (CSD) approved a regulatory change to unblock the power vacuum in the FEF to ensure that elections were held imminently. The federative body finally gave the green light this Friday to a process that must culminate in the election of a replacement for Pedro Rocha, disqualified by the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD).
