Elda consolidates its position as a leader in compliance with the Dependency Law among municipalities in the province of Alicante with more than 50,000 inhabitants. This is reflected in the report on Dependency assessments prepared by the Department of Social Services, Equality, and Housing, which includes data on the compliance of requests and assessments of Dependency status for all municipalities in the Valencian Community as of January 2025.

The Councillor for Social Welfare, David Guardiola, explained on Friday that "the compliance rate in Elda is 98.94%, a figure that is above the average for the region (97.45%), the province of Alicante (93.60%), and even the Valencian Community (94.39%)."

The councillor highlighted that, according to the report's data, "Elda has taken on a workload of 2,840 initial Dependency assessment requests, having completed a total of 2,810 initial assessments to date."

Throughout the autonomy, 227,383 assessments have been conducted, with 13,068 still pending, resulting in an average execution rate of 94.39%. By provinces, the execution rates are: Alicante, 93.69%; Castellón, 96.62%; and Valencia, 94.64%.

In the province of Alicante, the most notable regional data are from Vinalopó Medio (97.45%), El Comtat (96.95%), Vega Baja (95.98%), and Marina Baja (94.77%), with the highest percentages, and Bajo Vinalopó (93.64%), Marina Alta (92.81%), L'Alacantí (90.59%), and Alto Vinalopó (89.96%), with the lowest percentages.

David Guardiola explained that Elda consolidates as the city with the highest compliance rate of the Dependency Law "because we take it very seriously, and it is a priority for the local government that dependent people are well cared for. Therefore, we have sufficient human and material resources to ensure that this care is as swift as possible and that waiting times are minimized, as stipulated by the Law."

In the last two years (from January 2023 to January 2025), the Social Services of the Elda City Council have handled 1,070 requests and completed 1,144 assessments. This means more assessments have been conducted than requests received, allowing the percentage to rise from 94.12% in 2023 to 98.94% currently.
