Elda already has a plan, specifically an Investment Plan that will mean more than €40 million in actions in the municipality between 2025 and 2028. The mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, announced this morning the launch of 'Elda parte de ti', "the most important plan our city has ever had," explained the Elda mayor.
Alfaro explained that within this plan, projects that have already been announced and drafted will be developed, but clarified that "we are providing them with sufficient resources to tender and carry them out." Among the proposals included are the construction of the new headquarters of the Local Police, the renovation of the Juan Carlos Verdú Pavilion and the perimeter wall of the Old Pepico Amat, the rehabilitation of the Hospital de Pobres and the Old Conservatory. "In short, it is about ensuring the economic viability of projects that we have been presenting in recent times," highlighted the mayor.
The Elda mayor insisted that "the Plan will transform the city from top to bottom, with projects spread across different areas that need significant investment." He also explained that sports and cultural projects are included, such as the launch of the future 24-hour Study Room, which will have a budget of €500,000, the square located in front of Plaza Joan Miró, and the rehabilitation of the San Antón stairs.
Rubén Alfaro announced that "in the next Friday's Plenary, we will approve a credit modification to incorporate the 2024 Treasury surpluses that will finance this plan. In addition, in recent days we have signed a Mayor's resolution to incorporate other Treasury surpluses that do not require Plenary approval."
Similarly, the mayor of Elda indicated that "we will also approve requesting a European funds grant amounting to €15 million to develop the Integrated Local Development Strategy (EDIL), also called 'Elda parte de ti'. This EDIL includes crucial projects such as the comprehensive redevelopment of Avenida Chapí and Calle Colón, and the renovation of Rosalía de Castro Park."
Finally, the mayor of Elda stated that "the message we want to convey is that we have a clear city model, with a very defined and structured future development. When we manage to incorporate new resources, we can develop this model thanks to the planning carried out by the Department of Public Space, Investments, and European Funds."
The mayor was accompanied by the Councillor for Public Space, Investments, and European Funds, José Antonio Amat; the Councillor for Historical Heritage and Culture, Iñaki Pérez, and the Director of the Investment Area, Raquel Fernández.
