Elda honors couples celebrating their 'Golden Wedding Anniversary' this year

50 years of marriage is quickly said. The 'Golden Wedding Anniversary' is an event to celebrate, and so has decided the Elda City Council. Next October 25 at 7 PM, the Castelar Theater will honor those couples registered in the locality who celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

The Councilor for Elderly People, David Guardiola, announced this Monday morning the gala, whose registration period is open until October 18. The councilor considers this event "very important," as they will celebrate with the couples and their families "the fact of having shared almost a whole life together."

Guardiola has encouraged his neighbors to participate "in this endearing event that is a more than deserved tribute to those couples who joined in 1975 and who this year celebrate their half-century of marriage." Over the years that this event has been celebrated, 90 couples from Elda have attended the celebration, so they hope to exceed one hundred this year.

It should be remembered that the 2020 edition was canceled due to the pandemic, so in the 2021 gala, couples from both years were recognized. Families interested can submit the documentation, consisting of the family book, the ID of each member of the couple, a wedding photo sized 15 cm by 21 cm, a brief history of the couple, and the completed registration form, in person and free of charge at the Severo Ochoa Social Center until next October 6.
