Elda Begins Its Major Festivities This Friday

Elda's Major Festivities 2024 kick off this Friday with the Official Reception, the reading of the Proclamation from the town hall balcony, and the launch of the Palmera fireworks followed by the Alborada. The first event, starting at 8:15 PM, will once again be held at the Eldense Casino. During this event, Elda's mayor, Rubén Alfaro; the Festivities Proclaimer, Juan Pascual Azorín; and the Councilor for Festivities, David Guardiola, will welcome authorities, entities, and associations from the city.

Following this, the official committee will move to the Town Hall where former mayor Juan Pascual Azorín will read the Proclamation from the town hall balcony. Upon completion, the monumental Palmera fireworks will be launched, followed by a traditional greeting to the Patron Saints. The first day of Major Festivities will conclude with a fireworks display in the Vinalopó gardens.

Additionally, the Festivities Council has once again released commemorative wristbands for Major Festivities 2024. Those interested in obtaining them for free can visit the Tourism Office on Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, located on Nueva Street. Furthermore, the Tourist Info office will also be open on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th during the same hours.

In another event, Elda's mayor Rubén Alfaro; Councilor for Festivities David Guardiola; and Major Festivities Proclaimer 2024 Juan Pascual Azorín received personalized T-shirts and scarves for 'running the traca' from Ramón González, president of the Brotherhood of Patron Saints. It should be noted that the T-shirt illustration is by Eldense artist Héctor Sanz, who was also present at the event.
