Elche's urban bus service has recorded over 12.8 million users in 2024, a 10% increase from the previous year (11.7 million), according to the City Council.
Mobility data indicates that the majority of people using this public transport service utilise the Golden Card for elderly and pensioners in Elche, accounting for 34.6% of travellers in 2024. More than 2.2 million young people accessed urban buses thanks to the Bus Lliure Card, aimed at those under 26, facilitating daily travel to various educational centres in the city and promoting public transport usage, as highlighted by the same sources.
Using the regular bus card or ticket, 1.9 million passengers accessed the service, while 1.6 million used the monthly pass, a 21% increase from 2023. Additionally, 1.2 million utilised the service via the regular or deterrent ticket, a 14% rise from the previous year.
7% accessed public transport through school, youth, or large family passes, and their usage during free days increased by 40%, with 191,000 passengers benefiting from the service's gratuity.
Regarding line usage, Line B was the most utilised with 1,664,298 passengers, followed by K2 with 1,596,911, K1 with 1,535,432, D with 1,528,202, and M with 1,084,031 passengers in 2024.
