Elche to Swap Kisses for Gifts on Valentine's Day

Elche's Department of Commerce and Hospitality has launched a new Valentine's Day campaign aimed at boosting local commerce: 'Your Kiss is a Gift' is this year's slogan.

As explained by the councillor of the area, Caridad Martínez, the initiative is based on an event that will take place on February 14th, Valentine's Day, in Plaza de Baix. From 5 PM to 8:30 PM, a 'Kiss Cam' and a giant screen will be set up to encourage couples passing by to share a kiss in front of the camera in exchange for gifts offered by Elche's shops.

"Your kiss has a gift this year, and we want it to be a day of sharing, supporting our local commerce, and also having a gesture with the people we love the most," Martínez stated.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Rial, director of the Render agency, indicated that with this campaign "we want people to participate in Valentine's Day with an action that will ultimately be very dynamic and fun, and will also feature a speaker to enliven the event."
