El Ayuntamiento de Elche, through the Department of Public Services, has revealed the progress of the energy transformation being implemented throughout the municipality between 2024 and 2025, transitioning public lighting from sodium vapour to LED systems.
The area councillor, Claudio Guilabert, detailed that last year a total of 3,300 streetlights were replaced, resulting in savings of 250,000 euros, and this 2025, the plan is to replace around 1,100 public streetlights, which will save approximately 100,000 euros.
"Our goal is to end the four-year term with total savings exceeding one million euros thanks to improved lighting and the transition from sodium vapour to LED systems," stated Guilabert, highlighting that "these are very positive figures that demonstrate all the policies we are implementing have positive consequences for the residents of Elche."
