Elche's General Manager and Sporting Director, Pedro Schinocca, announced this Thursday that the club will not fill the two free slots with unemployed players because, in his opinion, "the squad is very balanced." Schinocca, a trusted confidant of owner Christian Bragarnik, highlighted the arrival of key players during this transfer window and acknowledged that fighting for promotion remains the club's ultimate dream.

Schinocca explained why the signings took so long to materialize: "We have been patient to sign players who were impossible to acquire at the beginning of the transfer window. We would have liked to finalize the squad earlier, but we do not control the market. There were atypical situations, such as negotiations with foreign clubs that have their own timelines," stated the Elche executive.

Both Schinocca and Bragarnik are "very satisfied" with the transfer market despite the criticisms. "Most of last season's players have been retained except for Tete Morente. It has been a great market, reinforcing priority positions," recalled the General Manager, who revealed that several offers for Nico Fernández Mercau, Nico Castro, and José Salinas were not considered.

"Of course I would love to achieve promotion, but the category is very competitive and contested. The only objective is to win against Zaragoza, then Granada, and so on for each match," insisted Schinocca.

The General Manager of Elche explained that Germán Varela, a player with whom Elche had an agreement as well as with his club Atlético de Madrid, changed his mind after receiving a call from Valencia while he was traveling to Alicante. "There is little we can do about that. We can only forget about that name and count on players who want to be here," noted the executive, who wished Edgar Badía all the best, one of the departures from the club. "He has given a lot to Elche, but Elche has also given a lot to him," added Schinocca.

After securing their first victory against Córdoba, Eder Sarabia's Elche faces a true test of strength at La Romareda, as Zaragoza is one of the teams that has reinforced itself most effectively this summer and is one of the main candidates for promotion.
