Elche plans to start Jayton construction in summer 2025
The project has been presented to Carrús residents and includes a large auditorium with 400 seats, a cinema and meeting rooms, municipal offices, and 240 parking spaces.

The mayor, Pablo Ruz, announced that the municipal government plans for the construction of the new Jayton sociocultural space in Carrús to begin in the summer of 2025. The project was presented to the neighborhood residents this Thursday evening. "They should be the first to know," he assured.
The Jayton project has already been approved by the Government Board to the architecture firm of Carlos Campos with a budget of 441,000 euros. The next step is the execution and bidding of the work, which will last for 15 months with the aim of making it a reality by the end of 2026. "This action will be a turning point for the Carrús neighborhood," with a total investment of 8 million euros.
This new sociocultural space is an ambitious project that involves the construction of a 4,400 square meter building on the former Jayton site, with a large auditorium seating 400 people, a cinema, meeting and event spaces, and 1,000 square meters allocated to municipal offices. "The goal is to decentralize the City Council's management," Ruz indicated, highlighting the construction of 240 underground, free, and monitored parking spaces, double the currently available spaces on the site.
The project also includes a redevelopment of the area, specifically the square and adjacent streets, as well as the implementation of green areas and dining establishments on the building's ground floor.
"This is the investment Carrús deserves. This municipal government is only driven to transform this neighborhood," Ruz assured, recalling that the comprehensive renovation works of José García Ferrández street and the new Local Police facilities in the 1st of May square are already underway. Additionally, work will soon begin on Ausiàs March, between Barcelona square and 1st of May.
