Elche Misses Victory Again at Ciudad de Valencia (1-1)

Another year, another missed victory in Valencia. It happened last year with Beccacece, and this season the story repeated with Eder Sarabia. The Elche team let two points slip away in the final minutes after dominating the match for a long time thanks to Agustín Álvarez's goal.

A precise cross from Nico Fernández was headed into the net impeccably by the Argentine forward.

Dituro saved the Elche team at the start of the second half, but the substitutions gave Levante the chance to level the match. Brugué appeared with a great individual action after a good pass from Carlos Álvarez, just over a quarter of an hour from the end.

The match reserved one last great chance for Elche to claim victory. Mario Gaspar could have secured the win for the Elche team, but his header was spectacularly saved by Levante's goalkeeper Andrés Fernández.

Victory would have placed Elche in the promotion play-off zone for the First Division. However, with the draw, Eder Sarabia's team remains outside the top six for another week.

Last year, Elche was leading 0-2 and ended up losing 3-2 in the second half. This season's setback wasn't as dramatic, but two points slipped away again.

Elche will host Real Oviedo at the Martínez Valero next Sunday at 9 PM.
