Eder Sarabia's Elche has only managed to gather four points out of the fifteen they have contested at the start of the League, and the murmurs of discontent are already perceptible around the Basque coach. The franjiverde team continues to show significant vulnerability in their own area and flirts with relegation spots, something entirely unexpected as owner Christian Bragarnik has publicly insisted he wants to see his team fighting for promotion.

Despite the results questioning Sarabia, the locker room sends a message of unity and support for the coach, as is usual in these cases. Captain Pedro Bigas, a key figure in Elche's locker room, speaks clearly: "We are fully behind him. We continue to grasp his ideas and way of playing. We need to run as little as possible and let the ball do the work; he asks for calmness and patience. Although it may not be the system that the crowd likes the most, it is a good way of seeing football and can give us a lot," asserts the Balearic central defender, who considers it premature to question Sarabia's method after just five matches.

Bigas does acknowledge that Elche needs to "take care of the details" in defensive actions, especially in set-pieces, to improve their level and achieve victories. The Balearic central defender, who debuted this league match after overcoming a muscle injury, expressed his happiness to return to the team, although he was disappointed not to do so with a victory against Granada (2-2).

Regarding Elche's fragility in set-piece actions, the defender acknowledged that the team "needs to improve and train those details that make a difference more than anyone else." "It cannot happen again. We have tall players who are good in the air and clear the ball well. It cannot happen anymore," insisted the player.

"Little by little, we defenders are getting to know each other better and doing a great job. We need to be one hundred percent focused," declared Bigas, who despite the poor run of results advocated for "moving forward because this is a long journey." "Good things are being done to achieve victory," insisted the defender, who positively valued the arrival this summer of players like Barzic, Diaby, or Affengruber to raise the defensive level. "The more people we have, the better because it makes you push yourself harder and want more. The more competition I have, the better I perform," concluded Bigas.
