Elche will host Technology Week from September 22 to 26, an initiative that will bring together more than ten activities aimed at making technological culture accessible to all audiences and establishing the city as a reference point for innovation within the province of Alicante. The program includes the Palmera Tech congress as well as workshops, exhibitions, theatrical experiences, and guided tours, all aimed at promoting the knowledge and use of new technologies.

Among the proposals, the exhibition on analog technology, the play "The Pioneers and Miguel Hernández," nanoscience workshops, artificial intelligence, and quantum physics stand out, along with the outreach activity "The Adventure of Radio." Specialized courses on digital skills in the tourism sector, the use of LinkedIn for employment, and the application of ChatGPT in tourism businesses will also be offered.

The Palmera Tech congress will hold its second edition on September 25 and 26 at the "Ciudad d'Elx" Congress Center. This event expects to gather more than 500 participants, including attendees, renowned speakers, and national companies. Over these two days, the congress will offer more than 40 presentations, addressing various approaches to technology applied to different professional sectors.

The congress director, Juanjo Milla, highlighted that "this Technology Week is encompassed within the Palmera Tech congress, which we are celebrating again and from which more than 500 attendees and over 40 speakers are expected." Additionally, September 24 will have a provincial character and will be held simultaneously in Orihuela Costa and San Vicente del Raspeig.

The Technology Week is organized by the Elche City Council, the National Association of Big Data and Analytics (ANBAN), the Center for Operational Research (CIO) of the UMH, and Palmera Tech. Activities will take place in venues such as the Puçol School Museum, l'Hort del Xocolater, l'Escorxador, the Paseo de la Estación, Radio Elche Cadena SER, or the Elche Tourist and Business Development Center.

"From Economic Promotion, we are convinced that technology has come to enhance our companies and it is essential to have technological skills [...] The world of technology is booming, and we want our society to have all these tools at their disposal. Palmera Tech has achieved significant scientific and social impact in the city of Elche. Last year, the congress had a very good impact, and this year being part of this Technology Week is very important for it to reach the entire society," said the Councillor for Economic Promotion, Samuel Ruiz.
