Elche honours residents aged 90 and above on June 22

Residents of this age or older, registered in the municipality, can sign up from May 26 to June 6

Elche City Council, through the Department of Childhood, Family, and Seniors, is paying tribute for the second time to all residents aged 90 and above in a special gala. This event will take place at the Gran Teatro de Elche on June 22, from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Aurora Rodil, the councillor for the area, stated, "With this event, we honour individuals who have lived long lives filled with rich and fruitful experiences, to whom we owe gratitude for all they have done to make our municipality great."

Registrations begin on May 26 and will remain open until June 6. To attend, interested individuals who meet the requirements must send an email to mayores@elche.es.

How to participate in the tribute to residents aged 90 and above

Email subject: '90 years'
Include a current photo and your favourite photo from your youth
In the email body: Name, surname, ID; two contact numbers and specify if you have reduced mobility or require any support.
Brief notable information about your life journey.

This request will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the available seating at the Gran Teatro is filled.

This year, the event will feature performances by artist Sonia de la Cámara, as well as the Coral de la Merced.

Rodil has invited families to register their relatives for "this beautiful tribute, which is moving and deserved by all seniors for their long life journeys."
