Elche City Council, through its Department of Economic Promotion and in collaboration with the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, has announced new training courses aimed at unemployed individuals under 30 and over 45. Mayor Pablo Ruz stated, "The council's goal is to provide training that genuinely meets labour market needs, evident from the positive outcomes last year when 161 people benefited from 1,600 hours of training in 2024 alone."
Samuel Ruiz, Councillor for Economic Promotion, highlighted, "Last year we signed the most ambitious training agreement ever with the Chamber of Commerce for Elche, and we are renewing it for 2025."
The courses offered last year, returning in 2025 for under-30s, include Category C vehicle driving licences, Warehouse and Commerce training, preparation for the Oxford-certified B2 English level, and Leisure Time Monitor.
The 65YMAS.COM event will return, offering participants training to identify and develop professional skills and strengths to build their personal brand, as successfully conducted last year at the Elche Congress Centre.
New courses included in the renewed agreement with the Chamber of Commerce are Photography and Digital Retouching with Artificial Intelligence, Men's Haircutting and Barbering, World Cuisine Food and Beverage, and Laboratory Assistant.
Additionally, the Hygiene and Home Health Care for Dependent Persons course for those over 45 will be offered again. "This course is highly demanded, and last year's participants easily found employment," assured Councillor Ruiz.
Ruiz also emphasised, "This municipal government has always prioritised youth training to facilitate their swift and effective entry into the labour market. We recognise the council cannot cover all training needs alone, hence our collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, whose involvement we greatly appreciate." Carlos Baño, President of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, thanked the council for "its outstanding efforts in training and employability."
