Elche to Choose 2025 Festival Queens and Ladies This Saturday

On Saturday, June 7th, the Rotonda of the Municipal Park will host the gala for selecting the new Queens and Ladies of the Elche 2025 Festivals. The event will commence at 10 PM, marking the end of the journey for the 31 child and 30 adult candidates as contenders.

The gala will be themed around the film 'The Greatest Showman', featuring live musical performances and a dance troupe. Present at the event will be Claudia Porta Vidal and Irene Quesada Campillo, reigning as the Senior and Junior Queens of the Elche 2024 Festivals, alongside their Ladies Andrea Puentes Esquembre, Carla Ferrándiz Pinedo, Adriana Sánchez Díaz, and Claudia Felipe Herrera.

The first segment will be dedicated to the adult candidates, who will showcase their evening gowns. Following this, the children will take the stage in their festive attire, with the final parade, prior to the reading of the verdict, reserved for the adults in their festive costumes.

With all candidates on stage, the jury's secretary will hand the envelope to the presenter to begin the announcement. The order of announcement will be Junior Lady, Senior Lady, Junior Lady, Senior Lady, Junior Queen, and Senior Queen. After the selection, the Elche anthem will be sung, and the remaining candidates will receive a memento from the Festivities Department to commemorate the year.

The adult jury will be chaired by Loli Serna, Councillor for Districts and Markets, with members including M. Emilia Bermejo, Head of Protocol at Miguel Hernández University (UMH); Estefanía Parra, journalist from Telecinco; Marga García, Press Officer of the Elche City Council; and Cristian Agulló, Cultural Heritage Coordinator of the Elche City Council.

Meanwhile, the president of the children's electoral jury will be María Bonmatí, Councillor for Education, Disability, and Youth, accompanied by members Manuela Ángela Peral, director of CEFIRE; Carmeli Marco, from the Protocol Department of the Alicante City Council; Francisco del Pozo Montalbán, National Police; and María José Toledo, manager of Aigües d'Elx.

Afterwards, the newly elected will join the Unió de Festers del Camp d'Elx and the Federation of Popular Festivities Managers at Las Clarisas for a toast in their honour.

The new Queens and Ladies of the 2025 Festivals will be proclaimed on July 5th at the Plaza de Baix, where they will receive the sash that officially marks the beginning of their reign.
