Elche asserts dominance at Martínez Valero against Eldense (2-0)

Elche remains unstoppable at Martínez Valero, amassing victories one after another and points in threes. Nine consecutive wins, or 27 points out of a possible 27, at the franjiverde stronghold. This streak propels Éder Sarabia's team back into the direct promotion spots to La Liga.

The latest victim was Eldense, who will remain in the relegation zone for another week despite recent improvements under José Luis Oltra's management.

Elche dominated from start to finish, but it wasn't until the last quarter-hour that they capitalised on their superiority.

Aleix Febas scored a Maradona-esque goal, picking up the ball in the centre circle and weaving past opponents, one after another, until reaching the penalty area. After a 30-metre run, he cut inside and with his left foot, placed the ball into Dani Martín's net.

Then came Josan Fernández's charge down the left flank. The Alicante native kept his composure to lift his head and deliver the perfect pass for Pejiño to score his first goal since joining from Unión Deportiva Las Palmas this January.

Now, Elche will defend their good form next Sunday at 2 PM at the Arcángel against Córdoba.
