Eduardo Serrano Iglesias, known as 'El Güito', a renowned flamenco dancer, passed away this Thursday in Madrid at the age of 82, as confirmed by the Flamenco Academy Amor de Dios. A legend of Spanish flamenco, comparable to Antonio Gades and Mario Maya, Serrano was born in 1942 in the El Rastro neighborhood of Madrid, where he began his dance career.

A prodigious artist, he made his debut at the age of 14 at the Palace Theater in London alongside Maya, Gades, Alberto Portillo, and Curro Vélez. At 16, he won the Sarah Bernhardt Prize at the Theatre of Nations in Paris.

He was part of the 'Trío Madrid', along with Maya and Carmen Mora, and in 1996 he received the Calle de Alcalá award. He also appeared in several films, including 'Madrid Jondo' (1995) and 'Puro Jondo' (1999).
