On Monday, June 23rd, a 'mascletà' with a surprise took place. The Ferrández Brothers from Beniel returned to Alicante to give it their all. And indeed, they did. The Murcians unleashed two earthquakes right in the Luceros square, marking a unique display in the history of the Luceros square.

The spectacle, the sixth in the Alicante Bonfires 'mascletàs' contest, detonated a total of 150 kilos of gunpowder in 6.21 minutes, reaching a maximum power of 124.5 decibels. Additionally, 18 fainting incidents were recorded during the display.

The 'mascletà' began with the shout of "senyor pirotècnic," which ignited a long Valencian firecracker, already hinting at the spectacular nature of the Ferrández Brothers' display from Beniel.

The Murcians, at the start of the aerial phases lasting nearly two minutes, brought out the artillery. First, a fan of thunder spread across the roundabout, followed by tritones, a unique device they skillfully utilised.

In between, a Spanish flag, with red and yellow smoke, shone to the sound of tritones and roncadoras, which, like streamers, adorned the sky of Alicante in the heart of Luceros square.

Alongside everything, a new phase introduced more combined thunders in the air, to the pure -frenetic- rhythm of a choreography. In this case, whirlwinds with thunder were added, followed by red and green streamers along with buzzers.

It was at the end of the aerial phase when the terrestrial body began to detonate. From the first firecracker, it did so with power and calibre, combining different charges that made Luceros vibrate, blending with the devices crowning the sky.

The power of all the charges increased 'in crescendo', an intense rumble of firecrackers dominated the various retentions of the central body of the 'mascletà'. The ears of the Alicante residents felt the force of the display that had only just begun.

This body advanced, both in charge and speed, leading to several announcements of the earthquake. Four quick retentions led to a double-height earthquake that lasted in time and form, which the attendees savoured.

With that, a first aerial bombardment, long and powerful. However, when everyone thought the 'mascletà' was over, a new earthquake surprised them. This time digital, with more cheers from the audience who appreciated the effect.

Thus, the display culminated with another new digital bombardment, with attendees applauding until they were surprised by the final hermetic burst of thunder, which put the golden finishing touch to the Ferrández Brothers' 'mascletà' at the Alicante Bonfires.
