The ground has once again trembled slightly in the province. This Sunday, Cocentaina was the epicenter of a 3.2 magnitude earthquake at 12:24, according to the National Geographic Institute (IGN) of Seismology. This movement was followed by another tremor in the province at 14:13 in the nearby town of Gorga with a magnitude of 2.0.

This is the second earthquake that has occurred in the Valencian Community this Sunday. Another tremor shook the Valencian town of Sumacàrcer at 3:58 am, registering an intensity of 2.5.

The earthquake was recorded this morning in this Alicante municipality at 13:24 with a magnitude of 3.2 and at zero depth, felt by the populations of Cocentaina, Benilloba, Muro, and Alcoi.

Meanwhile, the Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Centre reported that 112 received four calls related to this earthquake, as informed through their X account - formerly Twitter.

The Cocentaina earthquake has been the most intense in the Valencian Community in the last 30 days. The 3.2 degrees on the Richter scale mean that the tremor is especially noticeable on the upper floors of buildings but rarely causes damage. It is from 4 degrees onwards that effects begin to alarm the population as objects may move, windows and furniture shake, although even then damage is unlikely.

In Sumacàrcer, another tremor occurred last Wednesday, and on Thursday, another earthquake occurred in the Valencian town of Gavarda with a magnitude of 2.5.
