An off-duty national police officer stationed at the Elche Police Station became a guardian angel, saving the life of a 50-year-old woman who suffered a cardiac arrest during a motorcycle gathering in a rural area of Elche. The officer, enjoying his day off, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the victim for 10 minutes until she regained her pulse and breathing.
The heroic action began when the officer heard a chair fall to the ground. The cries of the woman's relatives alerted the officer, who quickly approached and observed the victim, whose face was turning cyanotic and was unresponsive, according to police sources.
Immediately, following established protocols, he called emergency services (112) to request medical assistance and without delay began performing CPR after confirming the victim had no pulse and was not breathing.
After ten minutes of CPR, he managed to revive the woman, who began to breathe and had a faint pulse, just as a medical team from the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU) arrived. The paramedics continued the resuscitation and transported her to the General Hospital of Elche.
Later, the hospital provided information regarding the victim's health status, stating she had suffered a severe cardiac arrest, which left her clinically dead for a few minutes. The medical staff confirmed that thanks to the officer's swift action and the resuscitation performed, the woman is alive.
