The Spanish Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal organisation involved in cocaine trafficking in Granada. The gang had its operational base in Alicante, from where the drug supply originated. Ten individuals have been arrested as part of Operation 'Almonta', according to authorities.

Additionally, three members of the criminal group are under investigation for their alleged involvement in the murder of Francisco Jesús P. S., a 39-year-old man who disappeared in Granada last September.

Investigative sources report that the Civil Guard began their inquiries following the disappearance report, leading them to a drug trafficking gang based in northern Granada with connections to Alicante, from where they received their narcotics.

After months of thorough investigation, authorities launched a series of raids last Thursday, conducting ten searches. Cocaine, drug-related materials, and evidence of drug trafficking and money laundering were seized. Among those arrested were the leader of the Alicante distribution network and a courier.

Investigators had long suspected some gang members of involvement in the disappearance and murder of the Granada man, believing they had disposed of his body. Following interrogations, the suspects revealed the victim's location.

The victim had been buried near the Murcia border. After extensive searches and terrain analysis, investigators located a body that, pending DNA confirmation, is believed to be the missing individual.

The Civil Guard stated that three arrested individuals, linked to the criminal organisation, are also being investigated for their roles in the murder and subsequent concealment of Francisco Jesús's body.

Therefore, the Civil Guard operation has focused on three clear objectives: locating Francisco Jesús's body and identifying his alleged killers, dismantling the cocaine trafficking organisation, and uncovering their money laundering activities, including freezing assets and bank accounts linked to criminal activities.

The operation was conducted by the Judicial Police Unit and the forensic team of the Granada Civil Guard. Those arrested for drug trafficking and money laundering have been brought before the Huéscar Investigative Court.
