The National Police have bolstered daily services in the city for the summer season with drones and more plainclothes officers to intensify their presence on beaches and leisure areas. This is a preventive measure to ensure Alicante remains a safe city for its residents and tourists who have chosen it as a holiday destination, according to the Police Force.

With the arrival of the summer period and the increase in tourist influx in Alicante, the National Police have activated a specific plan to reinforce police services in public areas, focusing on high-traffic zones such as urban beaches and popular leisure spots.

The intensification of services involves an increase in foot and vehicle patrols, aiming to enhance crime prevention, deter antisocial behaviour, and provide immediate response to any incidents. For greater effectiveness, the operation also includes the use of state-of-the-art technical and material resources, collaboration with other forces, and support for emergency services.

The measure aims to establish Alicante as a safe environment during the peak season, ensuring both the protection of citizens and the well-being of visitors. This preventive initiative is part of the general security strategy developed each summer in areas with high population density.

The National Police urge citizens to collaborate in protecting the urban environment through preventive and responsible behaviour. They remind the public of the importance of not leaving personal belongings unattended on beaches, terraces, or in vehicles; avoiding carrying large amounts of cash; keeping an eye on bags, backpacks, or wallets in crowded places; and immediately reporting any suspicious or criminal behaviour.

Additionally, they recommend using official communication channels for any emergency or incident via the 091 phone number, as well as visiting police stations to file reports.
