A driver who quadrupled the alcohol limit caused significant damage during the early hours of Saturday to Sunday in Alcoi, coinciding with the Mig Any celebration. This was the main incident that occurred during the festive day.

According to the account from the Alcoi City Council, the responsible vehicle (a high-end car) was speeding from Avinguda País Valencià to Valencia Street, hitting parked vehicles in Els Alçamora, Alameda Camilo Sesto, and Juan Gil-Albert, also causing damage to the vegetation of the bike lane.

Finally, it crashed into a vehicle that was stopped at the traffic light located at the beginning of Valencia Street. "Fortunately, the driver of the stopped vehicle only suffered minor injuries," they point out from the city council. The driver who caused all the damage had an alcohol level 4.32 times the legal limit, which is a criminal offense. Both drivers spent the night in the hospital under observation.

On the other hand, regarding les Entradetes, the Local Police had to intervene several times as the crowd at the door of a private venue, invading much of the roadway of Sant Nicolau Street and refusing to move, caused, in addition to many inconveniences to the public, several filaes to stop their march to pass, even requiring musicians to form in two rows. The Local Police also intervened in some fights, "fewer than usual on any weekend and in various neighborhood complaints," municipal sources indicate.

Possible changes for les Entradetes

Likewise, the Local Police will propose to the San Jorge Association to study the starting point of les entradetes of País Valencià, suggesting the option of moving it forward a few meters, leaving the section between Bambú Street and País Valencià clear, which would significantly ease traffic and allow vehicles to exit private garages.

The idea to be proposed is to place a fence at this point, which would mark the limit for the last row of musicians. This fence would also provide safety to participants in les entradetes and the public.
