Officers from the Albacete Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard have investigated a 40-year-old man, residing in the province of Almería, as a suspected perpetrator of a road safety offence for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
A patrol from the Almansa Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard, conducting road surveillance on the A-33 motorway within the municipal area of Caudete, observed an articulated vehicle ahead of them making unjustified zigzag movements and sudden stops. Consequently, they overtook it and brought it to a halt off the motorway, as reported by the Civil Guard in a press release.
Upon identifying the driver, the officers noticed signs of alcohol influence, which was confirmed after conducting the necessary tests. The driver recorded a result of 0.92 milligrams of alcohol per litre of exhaled air, six times the maximum permitted alcohol level for drivers of such vehicles, set at 0.15 milligrams.
Officers from the Almansa Traffic Detachment thus proceeded to investigate the individual for a road safety offence for driving under the influence of alcohol. They also immobilised the vehicle until another driver, sent by the owning company, took over its operation.
