Dramatic Rescue at Peñón d'Ifach

A 48-year-old man has been rescued by the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium (CPBA) at Peñón d'Ifach. The man got lost on Wednesday night in this natural enclave of Calpe.

Firefighters received the alert around 12:52 on Thursday, and a rescue helicopter was dispatched to the location. The man, a British national, could not find his way back and decided to call emergency services, according to a statement from the fire department.

Due to the rugged terrain of this peninsula on the Calpe coast, the CPBA decided to deploy a rescue helicopter and evacuate him to the Calp helipad. The man is in good condition. In addition to the aerial vehicle, a special rescue group participated in the operation.
