Parking ability is directly influenced by driving experience, individual skill and coordination, the type of car being driven (size and maneuverability), specific parking conditions (space and visibility), and, surprisingly, even the driver's mood.
Therefore, in principle, despite popular belief or astrological myths, the way you park your vehicle does not necessarily relate to your zodiac sign.
However, according to a study by Personality and Individual Differences (Luo et al., 2023), our personality traits are reflected in our driving: individuals with neuroticism or low empathy tend to drive—and park—more impulsively.
The study suggests that traits like responsibility and agreeableness are associated with safer driving, while neuroticism and low agreeableness are linked to impulsive driving behaviours.
Building on this connection between character and driving, Parclick has conducted a playful analysis of how each zodiac sign might park. Although astrology lacks scientific basis, this humorous approach seeks to identify "driving quirks" that often resonate with common personality traits, such as the "perfectionist Virgo" or the "optimistic Sagittarius" searching for parking in the city centre on a Saturday night.
Aries parks with the same energy they live with: without a second thought. Impulsive and somewhat reckless, they see a space and dive in, even if it requires an impossible turn. They have an almost innate talent for spotting spaces where no one else does, although their lack of caution sometimes backfires. For Aries, the best spot is right by the exit, perfect for rushing off to their next adventure. Their motto should be: "the best battle is the one avoided... especially if you book in advance."
Taurus, on the other hand, is patient, methodical, and deeply territorial. If they find their ideal spot, they won't let it go. For them, parking is an act of comfort: they need space, tranquillity, and, if possible, proximity to their favourite restaurant. They will defend their spot as if it has belonged to them since 2019 and struggle to accept alternatives. Sometimes, a gentle reminder like "there are more parking spaces than terraces in Madrid" can open their mind.
Gemini turns every parking search into a chess game against themselves. Restless and versatile, they constantly debate whether to go up another level or turn back. They can hold three conversations while manoeuvring and change their mind mid-drive. Ideally, they would have two adjacent spaces and decide at the last second.
Cancer parks with their heart. They choose spots that bring back good memories, like the one where they parked for the first time after getting their license. Their emotional connection to places is so strong that they find it hard to change, even when more practical options exist. Their photographic memory for remembering where they left the car is admirable, though sometimes sentimental isn't synonymous with functional.
Leo needs the world to see them. Parking is, for them, an act of presence: their car must be well-positioned, in a spacious spot with good lighting. No dark parking lots or hidden corners. Their weakness is their constant need to stand out.
Virgo turns every manoeuvre into an exercise of precision. There is no margin for error in their parking: if they need to reposition the car seven times, they will. Their level of demand is such that they can get stressed if the lines aren't perfectly painted. But their superpower is precisely that ability to fit the car like a glove. For Virgo, a well-lit and precisely marked spot is more than a necessity: it's a personal satisfaction.
Libra lives trapped between options. If presented with two similar spots, they can spend minutes deciding which to choose. Their need for balance leads them to seek the perfect spot between price, location, and comfort. Although their indecision can be frustrating, they have a great gift for avoiding conflicts and even mediating in others' disputes.
Scorpio is strategic by nature. They never park by chance: they have a plan, know the secret parking spots, and always seem to know something others don't. They move stealthily, seeking hidden but perfectly situated locations. Their weakness is their distrust: they tend to think other drivers are competing with them.
Sagittarius is optimistic to the core. They believe that, no matter what, they'll find parking in the city centre on a Saturday night. And if they don't, they improvise. Their confidence that the universe will provide is admirable, though not always effective. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes not. For Sagittarius, a spot near new restaurants to discover is ideal.
Capricorn is the most pragmatic of the zodiac. Parking is a logistical operation: price, location, and time. They probably have an Excel sheet with all available parking and their characteristics. They don't improvise, they don't waste time.
Aquarius doesn't park, they innovate. They seek different solutions, parking with electric charging points, digital access, smart sensors... They are always one step ahead and like to feel that the place where they leave their car matches their ideas. Sometimes their proposals may sound radical, but their pioneering spirit makes them stand out.
Pisces goes with their intuition. Parking, for them, is an emotional experience. They might have a hunch about a spot or follow a gut feeling... and end up completely lost among columns. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes not so much, but their connection with spaces is undeniable.
While each sign has its own driving quirks, there is a universal piece of advice that never fails: book your spot in advance. It doesn't matter if you're a demanding Leo, a calculating Capricorn, or a Pisces who goes with the flow; planning ahead is the smartest way to avoid unnecessary laps, last-minute stress, and high prices.
According to Parclick data, those who plan their parking in advance not only save money but also enjoy a much more relaxed experience, especially in high-demand cities or during key dates.
