The Doble Amor Charity Cross has reached its most successful edition in 2025, both in terms of fundraising and institutional and social support. Held on May 11th at El Moralet Park in Benidorm, the sporting event managed to gather a total of €20,965, which will be entirely allocated to the maintenance and operation of the Doble Amor Centre, an entity that serves over fifty people with functional diversity from Benidorm and other municipalities in the Marina Baixa.
The amount comfortably surpasses the €14,423 raised in 2024 and sets a new record in the history of this charitable initiative driven by the Rotary Club of Benidorm and organised by the Brotons Group, with the support of the City Council and numerous private entities.
The cheque handover ceremony was held this week at the centre's facilities and was attended by the Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the President of the Rotary Club, Dídac Fuster; the head of the Brotons Group, Pepe Brotons; the Sports Councillor, Javier Jordá; and representatives from Coca-Cola and other collaborating entities.
Toni Pérez congratulated the users, monitors, and families of Doble Amor for "motivating everyone to participate" in a race that, despite having slightly fewer participants this year—around 500 registrants—has broken all records thanks to the support of sponsors. This edition reached 32 sponsors, an unprecedented milestone.
The President of the Rotary Club reaffirmed the entity's commitment to Doble Amor "in everything within our power," while the centre's President, José Luis Calvo, thanked the collaboration of institutions and companies, noting that "the objectives we had in this sixth edition have been far exceeded."
The organisers are already looking forward to 2026 with excitement and hope. The seventh edition of the Doble Amor Charity Cross will once again unite sport and solidarity in an event that, year after year, demonstrates the enormous social commitment of Benidorm and its region.
