Elche has once again triumphed away from home, achieving victory at Córdoba's El Arcángel with a resilient second-half performance led by Matías Dituro.
The team from Elche hadn't won away since December 22 in Castellón. Now, this timely victory away from Martínez Valero propels Elche to the top of the standings and into the direct promotion zone to La Liga.
The match began well for Eder Sarabia's side with a fine play by Nico Castro, which Óscar Plano finished off.
However, before the half-hour mark, Dituro hesitated during a corner, allowing Albarrán to equalise at the far post.
The first half ended 1-1, setting the stage for a second half full of twists and surprises.
Córdoba increased the pressure in the last fifteen minutes, and Dituro rose to the occasion, redeeming his earlier mistake. He made four spectacular saves during a five-minute onslaught from the home team, which included corners, crosses, and constant shots.
Elche survived, and Josan Fernández's appearance in the 89th minute was crucial. The player from Alicante delivered a superb cross from the right to the far post, where Elbasan Rashani headed it into the net.
Another victory secured by the Kosovar's late appearance, reminiscent of the match against Real Zaragoza.
Elche now leads the standings, awaiting Mirandés, and could solidify their excellent form next week against the struggling Racing de Ferrol at Martínez Valero.
