Elche's Argentine goalkeeper Matías Dituro has gone from villain to hero and is now one of the team's key players under the guidance of Eder Sarabia. The veteran goalkeeper had a crucial performance in Eibar, allowing Elche to secure three points, placing them in the promotion playoff spots for the first time this season.

"We are on a very good path and I believe the team has found its way," said Dituro. Despite Elche's positive momentum, being in the promotion playoff zone for the first time, he urged caution as the season has just begun. "We have only just approached the area where we would like to be all season," the goalkeeper noted, stating that he has not been affected by the criticism received early in the championship.

"The insults hurt me because of my family, because they heard them, but they strengthen me because the fans want to see performance and this club demands it," he argued.

For the goalkeeper, one of the keys to Elche's good form is that the team has managed to understand "the moments of the game." "There are times when you can break through by attracting and others when there is space to play behind," Dituro explained, who, despite Elche keeping a clean sheet in the last three matches, considered that there is room for improvement in defense.

"We cannot deceive ourselves and must keep working because in Eibar they created many chances," Dituro admitted, expressing his hope that Elche will be the protagonist this Friday against Almería and will know how to seize their moment despite the quality and "hierarchy" of the opposing players.

The player valued the good personal and professional relationship he maintains with Miguel San Román, the other goalkeeper in the squad, with whom he has shared the starting position in recent games. "We are both very competitive and demanding. We always train to the maximum," the Argentine noted, praising the offensive potential of Almería, their next opponent, especially the top scorer Luis Suárez, who has scored eight goals.

"We know about their individual quality and their numbers from midfield forward, but we will try to control them," said the goalkeeper, who emphasized the importance for Elche of not conceding goals "because we also have dangerous players who create chances and at any moment we can score."
