Diego Pérez, a 'Playmaker' at the Service of Servigroup Balonmano Benidorm

Diego Pérez, a promising talent from Valladolid, has joined the ranks of Servigroup Balonmano Benidorm. Under the guidance of Marko Krivokapić, the team aims to secure a return to the Asobal league, with Pérez being the third confirmed signing following David Mach and Pol Roy.

Having developed through the youth ranks of his hometown club, Pérez made his top-flight debut with Atlético Valladolid in the 2021-2022 season before moving to Trops Málaga, where he played 29 matches and scored 44 goals in the recently concluded season.

This move marks a significant step forward in Pérez's career, as he joins a project with ambitious goals, aiming for promotion after finishing eighth in the national handball second division in the 2024-2025 season.

Upon his official signing with Balonmano Servigroup Benidorm, Pérez highlighted the team's ambition as a key factor in his decision, stating, "The team's ambition, led by Marko, who conveyed a clear idea and competitive project from the start, was very appealing to me."

Pérez also noted the club's history of nurturing young handball talents, saying, "Besides the ambition, the opportunity for personal and professional growth was a significant factor in my decision."

On an individual level, Pérez expressed his desire to contribute commitment, teamwork, and experience in the challenging División de Honor Plata, aiming to help the team achieve its highest possible goals.

His new coach, Marko Krivokapić, praised Pérez as a 'playmaker'.

The Serbian coach emphasized Pérez's versatility, noting, "He can play in various positions both in attack and defense," and believes that Pérez will form a perfect partnership with 'Juancar', creating a formidable central duo with a deep understanding of the sport.
