Madrid - Fitur

The relocation of Banco Sabadell's headquarters and its departure from Alicante was the main topic at the start of Fitur. Political authorities have criticised the move to Barcelona and lament the decision made by the financial institution.
In this context, the PSPV has taken a somewhat different stance from that of the business community, the mayor of Alicante, and the president of the Generalitat. The Minister of Science, Diana Morant, has criticised Mazón over Sabadell's departure.
The PSPV leader stated during media statements at Fitur that the relocation of Banco Sabadell's headquarters is a symptom of "political abnormality" and insists that "now it's in the Community where companies are fleeing."

At the same time, Morant emphasised that the decision made by the financial institution clearly marks the return "to political normality in Catalonia" and reiterated "the responsibility Mazón has for what happens to the companies in his territory."
It is worth noting that the president, also speaking to the media, admitted that he has spoken with Illa and that Sabadell has assured him that the Alicante workforce will remain intact and that no offices will be closed.
Morant has strongly criticised Mazón and the PP following his statements criticising Pedro Sánchez and the meeting he will hold with the mayors of the areas affected by the DANA, all without Mazón's presence.
In this regard, the PSPV leader assured that Mazón "arrives three months late in joining a meeting so long after" while supporting Sánchez: "The President has been directing the government's action every day through ministerial meetings and crisis committees."
The minister also took the opportunity to criticise Feijóo for his "unpatriotic" stance in voting against laws that would, among other things, subsidise public transport. "It is doubly negligent to continue supporting Mazón and to leave those affected by the DANA without aid by not approving the Royal Decree," the socialist insisted.
