The speed at which an injured person is assisted can mean the difference between life and death. To address this, a company from Elche has developed a device that allows vehicles such as non-assisted transport or police cars to be converted into equivalents in performance to Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances.
We are talking about the start-up Medical Devicine from the Scientific Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH), whose project has been recognised as the best at the XII Investment Forum in start-ups organised by the international network of investors Keiretsu Forum.
The added value of the device developed by the PCUMH company lies in the fact that, thanks to it, a single person from the so-called first responders can perform Basic Life Support (BLS) manoeuvres equivalent to an ambulance.

This is possible because it combines in a single kit the size of a backpack, assistance capabilities for ventilation, trauma, and intubation support. Thanks to this, the company's CEO claims they can convert vehicles such as Non-Assisted Transport (TNA) or police cars into equivalents in performance to BLS ambulances.
The PCUMH company has more than six years of development, functional prototypes, testing, usability studies, and engineering processes for industrialisation. Additionally, it has secured patents in the United States, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain.
Currently, it is in the process of obtaining them in Canada and South Korea. Furthermore, it has initiated the application for a second family of patents focused on the trauma part of the device.
