On May 12, the Dénia Health Department will host the inaugural International Nurses Day event, aiming to highlight the work of nurses across various care levels and encourage professional reflection.
The event will take place in the hospital's auditorium, gathering nurses from hospital, primary care, and social health sectors. The opening will be led by Juan Puig, the Health Department Manager of Dénia, and Mª José Tomás, the Director of Nursing.
Following the inauguration, three consecutive workshops will be held, led by representatives from various healthcare areas. Each workshop will address the role of nurses in improving care quality and continuity.
The first workshop, titled "Reference Units," will feature three department professionals discussing stomatherapy, demand management, and heart failure.
The second workshop, titled "Cycle of Care Continuity," will cover aspects related to coordination and care follow-up, the role of primary care in continuity, and interventions in the Emergency and hospitalisation services as part of the care cycle.
Finally, the third workshop, titled "How We Care for Ourselves," will address aspects related to healthcare staff self-care, including nutrition and physical and emotional well-being.
The event, to be closed by Rosa Ferrándiz, Director of Primary Care Nursing, will provide a meeting space for professionals from different nursing fields.
